Addition fact families 2024 - 2025

The children have been working hard this week learning about fact families.  A fact family is a group of calculations that are created using the same three numbers. They have used the fact families to learn basic addition.  They have also learned that it doesn't matter which way round you add numbers. The answer is always the same. 1 + 2 will always be the same as 2 + 1.  They have also learned how part whole models can be used to understand fact families.  I am very proud of their hard work!
