Writing Character Descriptions about Father Christmas

For our final piece of writing before the Christmas holidays, the children wrote a character description all about Father Christmas. It was set out like a non-chronological report has three sections including appearance, personality and Santa’s location. All the children’s work was amazing and they worked extra hard to produce something special. Before ploughing straight into our writing, we studied ‘The Night Before Christmas’ and spent a long time investigating all the interesting vocabulary which described Santa in it. Then the children had to make a decision to decide what word would go with what definition, before we discussed them as a class. Here are a selection of photographs from our writing lessons.
