What did we find on the playing field?

Today we went to look for three interesting things we could find on the playing field to describe and talk about. We were focussing on vocabulary and WOW words - the children came up with some interesting words to describe the things they could see, feel and smell. One of my favourites was the description of a Sycamore seed... 'It looks like a wing of a plane and it is very delicate!!' We encouraged the children to use new words they learn in context and listen for these throughout the day. I overheard one little boy say to another pupil (as she went to pick up his toy)....'It's very delicate you know!'
