We love 'Wow'

We are really enjoying our wow writing so far this year. Last week we had a competition for our writing and it's caused a huge buzz of excitement in Year 2. Today's wow session involved lots of great games to help us think about our vocabulary, connectives, openers and punctuation. We play a game with post it notes on our heads to play guess the connective, played a vocabulary game using the word 'apologise' which we said in a sentence when we caught the ball and of course not forgetting our VCOP chant complete with actions! We are also partial to a bit of Kung fu punctuation. We've written some great letters as apologies to Little Red Riding Hood from a very guilty wolf today. We are also developing the skill of reading our work back to check it at the end, an important skill for our budding authors!
