The Trial of Charles I

Lesson: History

This afternoon, the children learnt all about the trial of Charles I for treason at the end of the British Civil Wars. The children then were given a scene in which they had to act out and play different characters in the trial such as Charles I, Oliver Cromwell, Judge Bradshaw and Lady Fairfax, wife of the leader of the New Model Army. The children absolutely love this period of history and this was clear from all of their performances!
