The Secret of the Black Rock!

We have been exploring the Secret of the Black Rock in Year 1. At first, we thought that the Black Rock was evil and dangerous. However, Erin then snuck out to sea and discovered that the Black Rock is in fact a magical and friendly creature who looks after all of the sea creatures. Erin rushed back to land to explain this to the fishermen but they didn’t listen! Instead, the fishermen plotted to destroy the Black Rock!

Today, we received a letter from Erin and she needed our help. Our task was to convince the fishermen not to destroy the magical creature. We worked with our learning partner to create a short speech which we then presented to the class. Miss Wortley videoed our responses and we then sent them to Erin.

Hopefully our super ideas, vocabulary and use of the conjunction ‘because’ will persuade the fishermen to look after the Black Rock instead of destroying it.
