Happy 90th Birthday to the Queen!

Year 1 have had a fantastic day learning about our Queen and the Royal Family, and celebrating Her Majesty's special birthday. We discovered the Queen has two birthdays every year and has sat and had her portrait painted 130 times! (We all tried sitting still and posing but it didn't last long.) 

In the morning we neatly wrote the facts we learnt onto crowns and spent some time decorating them. In the afternoon we all joined together and went outside to the story telling circle where we sat and listened carefully to the story, The Queen's Knickers. We each designed our own pair of 90th birthday knickers for the Queen and made them into flags to wave.
