The Bear and the Hare

In Wow Writing today we had a great surprise! The Bear from the John Lewis advert 'The Bear and the Hare' emailed us and sent us a video asking us if we could retell his story. The children really enjoyed their Wow Writing session today and wrote some amazing pieces of writing. In these pictures we have a selection of the children's writing and photos of their pre-Wow activities. These are the Wow games which the children took part in:

Vocabulary - the children came up with a selection of vocabulary which they stuck to the Bear and the Hare. They had to burgle two of these to include in their writing. 

Connectives - the children had to complete a sentence using the connective even though. They played this competitively as boys versus girls. 

Openers - the children had to use tiredly as an opener. If the ball was thrown to them they had to say a sentence with tiredly as an opener. 

Punctuation - the children were given a section of text from Allan Ahlberg's Funnybones which they had to punctuate accurately.
