The amazing life and work of Mary Anning
Lesson: English
3W have been learning about the work of pioneering palaeontologist, Mary Anning.
Mary was born in Lyme Regis, Dorset in 1799 and spent her life searching the local beaches for curiosities, that we now know to be fossils.
She made many remarkable discoveries, one of which was identified as an ichthyosaur, but Mary never received the recognition she deserved for her find.

3W have been writing diary entries to describe how Mary felt when she found the fantastic fossil. The first stage was drawing a story map to plan the first diary entry.
