Sorting Vocabulary for our Mystery English Text

Lesson: English

Today we started our mystery English unit. The children had some very tropical pictures on the board which they were able to discuss. After this they were given a selection of vocabulary which had to sort between three subheadings:

a) sea/ocean/beach

b) forest 

c) underwater

Any vocabulary they did not know they researched the definitions using the dictionary app on the iPads. 

The children are really intrigued and desperate to start properly tomorrow, especially as they still don’t know if they’ll even be writing fiction or non-fiction!
