Settling into Year 6

Well, we've been back at school for what seems like forever- summer is but a distant memory!  It has been a busy few weeks (not only for the teachers!). We have had elections for all of our school officer positions and the award of prefect and house captain badges. So far,  they're doing a good job. I don't think I'd like to get on the wrong side of them anyway.

In History, we have been looking at the causes of the Second World War and, in Science, we have been studying light and how we see. In R.E., we have been studying Jewish festivals Rosh Hashannah and Yom Kippur, including tasting pomegranates, apples  and honey-very yummy! We have also learnt about fasting for Yom Kippur and the concept of repentance for sins. In P.E., we have been enjoying football with Wilmslow High School and fitness (or unfitness) sessions, including the twelve minute Cooper Run and that's all in addition to English, Maths, Spelling, times tables ....Phew!

The half-term is only half-over so there's much more to come.  I look forward to seeing you all on Parents' Evening.
