Safer Internet Day in R1

Lesson: Information and communication technology

Today the children across the school have been learning how to be safe online as part of the national Safer Internet Day. 

Within reception we thought about the different types of technology we use at home and school and then which of these use internet. After recognising which technolgy uses internet we then watched a video and listened to stories to teach us why it us important to stay online. We showed great understanding of why we should not talk to strangers over the internet, or in the street, what to do if we feel worried when online and also how to use it nicely.

All the children worked hard to make role play masks linked to our safer internet video, draw pictures of the internet rules and create drawings of what technolgy they use at home and school. A great day of important learning which hopefully the children will remember when using the internet in the future.
