Room on the Broom

For our topic this half term we will be looking at a range of books written by Julia Donaldson. This week and last we have been looking closely at the different books she has written and discussing which were our favourites and why. Lots of us love the book Room on the Broom and with it being Halloween we thought it was a super story to read and base our writing around.

This week we were surprised to find the witch had sent us a message asking us to help her make her a new broom as hers is old and tatty! We had lots of fun thinking of and writing interesting potions to help her which included putting in skeletons, spiders, zombies and even the teachers.

Along with looking at the story of Room on the Broom we have also been measuring objects, making our own broomsticks, discussing the importance of sharing and creating our own horrible beasts.
