Puppet fun
Lesson: Design and technology
As part of our work on the World Cup we have been looking at countries from all over the world and how to find them on a map. We were very fortunate to have a visitor yesterday into our class, Mrs Penny (Lucy's grandma), who showed us lots of puppets from all over the world and the children got a chance to make their own.
Mrs Penny told us how her love of puppets started and showed us a variety of different kinds of puppets like marionettes, hand puppets and intricate shadow puppets and told us all about where they were from.
The children enjoyed being able to play with lots of different hand puppet characters, made their own finger puppet sportspeople and then got the chance to make their very own puppet from a variety of craft materials and brightly coloured paper bags.
Miss Humphreys and Class 4 would like to say a huge thank you to Mrs Penny for coming into our class. The children throughly enjoyed themselves. Here are some pictures of our fun-filled afternoon and the final products!
