Our super secret science laboratory

Lesson: Science

Our topic this term in Science will be to do with Materials. To kick start this we have undertaken a special super secret science project complete with our own laboratory! In these photos you will see the children dressed in their lab coats (art aprons) experimenting with a range of scientific resources from across the three branches of science (biology, chemistry and physics) and wondering what they might be used for. In doing this the children had the opportunity to handle the equipment and prepare themselves for when they might use it at points in the coming year.

Other photos you might see will include children using two different spinners. One spinner had a range of materials on and the other spinner had a range of objects on. Often the children's spinners would land on words like paper sofa and they had to explain to their partners why this was a good or bad choice of material for the object to be made out of.

All the children had a fantastic time and really enjoyed their afternoon's super secret scientific activities.
