National Poetry Day

The theme for National Poetry Day this year is 'counting.' 2R's poem was Ten Little Dinosaurs by Mike Brownlow and Simon Rickerty. We worked on understanding how to rhyme, how rhyming couplets work and how each ends in a rhyming word. We created our own scaffolded couplets. We also rehearsed the poem, with children being narrators and dinosaurs, and we focused on our voice choice and intonation.
