Mummifying Tomatoes in Year 2

Lesson: History

Today the Lacey Green Year 2's transformed from school children into Ancient Egyptian Embalmers!

Our task was to perform the ritual of mummification on ....... A tomato.

We pulled out the brains with a plastic spoon and placed them in a special canopic jar (aka the bin).

After that we cleaned and stuffed it with natron salt (table salt and bicarbonate of soda) before we wrapped it in bandages.

They have now been placed in a sarcophagus and will be put in their tomb tonight.
