Map work

Lesson: Geography

Over the past few weeks, Year 4 have been learning about the different kinds of maps and how to read them.  Last week we looked at 4 figure grid references and learned how to plot and find locations.  This week our challenge was to make a map of the classroom.  We were split into groups and each given a bit of territory.  Then we had to plot each groups territory with a different colour making sure that our map was accurate.  Next week we hope to use our maps to hide and locate objects around the classroom like a big game of battleships.
