Making Cars in 2M
Lesson: Design and technology
This week 2M have been working on designing and creating wooden toy cars. First we researched different car designs by looking at toy cars which we borrowed from a Reception and also by googling different designs online. After that we designed our own cars and thought about how we could transform these into working prototypes. Later on we went down to the Art Bay and used Junior Hacksaws to saw wood to create the chassis of our cars. Mr Myers glued these together before we completed the bodies in our classroom. After the cars had all been assembled and we had evaluated our work, we raced them to see whose car would be the fastest and whose car was built to purpose (to be played with multiple times without it breaking). We’ve had a lovely week so far. Next we’re doing Dips and Dippers in Food Technology with Miss Aldous.
