Investigating Commutative Law in Maths!

Lesson: Maths

Today in Maths, Year 1 carried out their own investigations to explore and prove the commutative law. 

They used a variety of resources to explain their thinking and prove their understanding and outcomes.

We proved that the addition of two numbers can be done in any order, but the subtraction of one number from another cannot. 

Then came our challenge... we had to explain our findings.
