DT Week in 2W

Lesson: Design and technology

We have really enjoyed DT week in Year 2! Our project this term was to create a winter snow globe. First, we looked at existing products and explored the work or Peter Lord and David Sproxton. 

We then had to think of possible designs. We came up with a few ideas, before choosing our favourite as our final design. On Thursday, we got to work to make our final design a reality. We first used clay to create our tiny figures to go inside the snow globe. Then, we added water, glycerine and snowflakes or glitter. We overcame a few hurdles along the way. For example, we had to make sure our clay models were as strong and sturdy as possible.

What a wonderful week. The children have worked so hard and enjoyed every minute. Well done Year 2!
