DT Week - Dips and Dippers Day One

We have launched our exciting week of Design and Technology in Year 2! Our week is going to be split into two different activities. 2A will spend the first part of the week with Miss Aldous doing Food Technology and the second part of the week with Mr Myers designing and making wooden cars.

For Food Technology we are excited to announce we are going to be exploring 'Dips and Dippers' to create our own recipe for a dip that we could sell in a supermarket! On our first day we started off by exploring different types of dips - Guacamole, Salsa, Thousand Island, Hummus and Raita.  We spent time learning about the countries these dips originated from and finding them on a map. Next came the fun part - tasting! I was impressed that every single child had a try at tasting each dip, even if they didn't like it. We then evaluated the dips and gave them scores out of ten before moving on to do the same with the dippers. Have a look at some photos to see what we have been up to so far.
