DIGESTIVE SYSTEM-The Stomach

Pupils in the class have begun looking at the digestion system this week following on from the study of the mouth and teeth. The children created a model plastic stomach and were given items of food and drink to feed it. After each item of food, the children were asked to squeeze the bag for two minutes. The food began to break down just like the stomach does to food. The children were introduced to the scientific terms -small intestine and large intestine
