Class 9 - Wider Opportunities
Lesson: Music
On Thursday, Class 9 pupils experienced their first ever Wider Opportunities music lesson led by Mrs Tennant and Mr Turner. The programme allows each child within Year 5 and 6 to begin to learn how to play an orchestral instrument. Each child, after some trialling and experimenting, will be given an instrument to own and practise daily. Here the children began with some individual and paired rhythmic games. After this, the children were introduced to the brass instruments available in school. They were all given an opportunity to try to play each of the instruments. Next week they will be introduced to the woodwind instruments.
