DESIGN TECHNOLOGY WEEK
CLASS 4R -ROMAN CHARIOTS
This week, as part of Design Technology Theme Week in school, Class 4R have been researching aspects of Roman Entertainment using the iPads. The information they locate will help them to begin designing and creating a Roman Chariot to be raced around a class created Circus Maximus. The children will then hopefully, once completed create a stop animation movie of a traditional Roman Chariot Race using their models.
Following their research and design proposals, the children began to practise their woodwork skills using bench hooks and hacksaws. Following this they constructed their chassis using right angled triangles glued to the corners of the jinx frame.
Today the children worked on creating and constructing their axles and attaching the wheels. After this the children began to design the rest of the chariot now that the base frame had been constructed.
Follow this page as their Roman Chariots start to take shape.
