Class 4J Writing - Direct Speech

As part of our focus upon narrative writing, we looked at the use of direct speech. We revised the synonyms for said and listed these in order to help the children demonstrate how speech can be communicated. After revising how to punctuate speech, we went on to look at ways to vary the order of speech using living sentences. A direct speech sentence was built up, extended and then reordered ( and slightly amended when required). The children built up some super speech sentences!
