Class 4J - English

During the past week, the pupils in Class 4J have been studying features of newsreports with particular emphasis on speech. They have revised their knowledge of direct speech and how to punctuate their, and then been introduced to what reported speech.

As well as practising punctuating speech with inverted commas, the children practised interviewing an eyewitness linked to the suspected sighting of a marine animal. This practical activity was great fun with the children improvising ( glue sticks became their microphones).
