CLASS 4J - WRITING & SPELLING

WRITING - FICTION UNIT

In our English lessons this week, we began to explore our model text which we will be using to help to support our own writing next week. Earlier in the week, the children had been exploring expanded noun phrases, prepositions and fronted adverbials, and had been asked to combine these within sentences to accompany some of the illustrations from lour vehicle text, The Whale'. Following some work on similes and alliteraton, the children were asked to identofy the key language features within the model text.

SPELLINGS

During one of our spellings lessons this week, as we drew towards the end of our first unit of work, the children enjoyed the paired' Four in a Row' game where they tested each others' spelling knowledge and the application of suffixes. Very focused work - well done!
