Our New Writing Unit

On our return to school after Easter, we began exploring our new writing genre based upon the storybook, ‘The Journey’ written by Francesca Sanna.

Initially the children attempted to predict the possible text to be used by revealing, discussing and linking a range of different clues hidden under a blanket. Following this, they read the book and explored the new vocabulary within it.

After this, we began to explore how the mood of the text was shown through a range of language techniques.
