Unit: The Maya Civilisation

This week, the children returned to their historical knowledge with the introduction of our new history unit on the Mayan Civilisation.

The children reviewed their knowledge of the periods of history studied during Year 3 and during the Autumn Term in Year 4. We discussed each period of history on the History timelines in their books, in the classroom and also in our junior corridor. We located the period of time that the Mayans lived and then went on to discover where they lived. Following lots of important facts about the four periods within their very long civilisation, the children were asked to record what they had learnt.
