CLASS 4J - READING

As part of our first Steps to Read unit within Year 4, the children have been exploring extracts from the non-fiction book,' The Whale'. We have really enjoyed the facts provided within the samples of text and have learned new information. This week we focused upon understanding the negative and positive effects people have had on whales over the last century. Whilst pulling out evdience from the text we began to discuss and understand the importance of being very exact with the words used, for example the difference between the adverbials 'some' and 'most'.
