Science- Living Things

This week we began a new Science topic entitled ‘Living Things’. During the session we began to consider the ways in which animals and insects can be grouped scientifically. They started by thinking of ways to group themselves as pupils ( considering features such as hair, height, eye colour etc). We considered using questions to help us group these using their specific features. This led into the introduction of classification keys. 

Following this,  the lesson ended with them classifying 5 biscuits using a classification key as a class. The children enjoyed eating one of the biscuits as a reward for working hard together as a team!
