Class 4J - RE- Judaism

Lesson: Religious education

CLASS 4J - RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

At the end of the first Summer Term, pupils in Year 4 continued to look at and consider the Jewish faith and the key enquiry question for the final unit: What is the best way for a Jew to show commitment to God?

During the unit of work, the children were encouraged to consider key events in their own lives and were introduced to the Jewish Rites of passage namely Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah. They learned about the meaning and observation of 'Mitzvoth'  and the ways in which people of the Jewish faith do good deeds for others and the world around them. They considered these newer aspects and practices in conjunction with their previous learning about Judaism.
