Class 4J - English

This week in English, the children began looking at their next piece of writing - a non- chronological report on a sea animal.

To begin with, we discussed which language and structural features we might find in a non- fiction book and on a page within it. We looked at different examples of our Roman topic books and also at a range of report pages from a book about oceanic animals.

Afterwards, we began looking at how to take effective notes by using key topic words, facts, abbreviations and bullet points. We then used this knowledge to take notes whilst watching a short National Geographic video on specific sea mammals and fish.
