Class 4J - Writing

This week, we began emerging ourselves into the new vehicle text 'Leaf' written by Sandra Diechmann. The children discussed potential story plots from a range of pictorial clues and then began developing appropriate expanded noun phrases based upon 5 illustrations from the book. 

Afterwards, the children read and reread the storybook, 'The Leaf' and discussed the theme of belonging within it. Children went on the read the model text which will be used to support the children's writing. The children were encouraged to take a paragraphed section of this and re-enact through drama.
