Class 4J- Making and Evaluating

Following lots of investigation, research,discussions and designing, the children began creating their base chassis which included the wheels and axle. The children were involved in  constructing  3D nets, measuring dowel and wooden strips as well as sawing these using a hacksaw and bench hook. The children worked hard on the latter skill. They then were able to put their components together to make the base of their vehicle.

Following this, the children were then given freer reign to work on top half of their chassis and spent lots of time evaluating others' ideas and work as the construction process went on. The children encountered lots of issues as they journey through the project and showed great resilience in tackling and solving these.

After the children had created their working their vehicles, they were asked to evaluate them against the original design brief.

All of the children worked incredibly hard during the week and supported each other in order to create sone excellent vehicles. Well done everyone! A super week.
