Class 4J- Design Technology Week

During this week, pupils in Class 4J were asked to design a Christmas vehicle to be used by a child.

The children started off by investigating and looking at toy vehicles and working out the mechanics of how they worked. The children looked closely at how axles and wheels work on vehicles.They we're also asked to find out about the important inventor of the Ford car,  Henry Ford. 

After the above investigations, the children focused upon looking at designing their own Christmas vehicle using the above research. They also practically investigated how to create and evaluate temporary and permanent ways of joining materials to allow them to make appropriate design decisions prior to making their vehicle using wood, card and junk modelling materials.
