CLASS 4J - LITERACY

This week, the children in Year 4 have started to read the book Oliver and the Sewigs written by Philip Reeve and Sarah McIntyre. They enjoyed the initial start to the book and learn’t a little about the Crisp family and their incredible adventures. As we read and explored the book’s initial illustrations, the pupils were intrigued to learn that Mr and Mrs Crisp discovered the ‘Lost City of Propacopaketl’. 

Class 4J set about discussing what the lost city of Propacopaketl might be like. As a result, the children began writing an introductory report paragraph stating that this city was now the newly discovered ‘Eighth Wonder of the World’. They then continued by adapting and creating sentences about their own lost city of Propacopaketl. The children have thoroughly enjoyed the start of their writing and are looking forward to continuing this next week. 

Following lots of hard work, Class 4J Have finally produced their reports about the Lost City of Propacopaketl! The children thoroughly enjoyed the unit of work and produced some fantastic pieces of writing. A selection are uploaded here.
