Capacity in 1G

Lesson: Maths

This week we have been learning about capacity. We began the week by going outside to explore by pouring different amounts of liquid into containers. Then we used our new maths vocabulary to describe how much liquid our containers had in; if they were full, nearly full, half full or half empty, almost empty or a quarter full, or empty. We then had a go at measuring how much different containers could hold by using non-standard units including cups of rice, beads, cubes and cups of water. Some of us made estimates first and then checked to find out the actual answer.
