Have you lost a penguin?

A lonely and lost penguin arrived in 1W's classroom this morning. It had found its way to England and had arrived on a little boy's door step. 
 

We asked the boy questions to find out more (although we are pretty sure it was Miss Wortley in an orange hat). We then found out that the penguin was from the South Pole. We learnt what an iceberg is and came up with adjectives to describe different things that you may find in the South Pole. 
 

We then challenged ourselves to up level and improve our vocabulary. We used our vocabulary wall to choose new and exciting words to use in our writing. 
 

Our writing over the next two weeks will be based on the story 'Lost and Found' by Oliver Jeffers.
