Calder inspired music
Lesson: Music
Class 4J were introduced to graphic notation, an informal way of recording down musical ideas and sounds. They learned how to read and interpret shapes and change them into musical sounds. Following on from this, they created basic graphic notation grids, rehearsed these and performed them in groups.
The above work led into beginning to use Alexander Calder's mobiles as a structure for creating a graphic score. The children created some super musical scores which they will go on to rehearse, perform and evaluate together.
