Bravery Awards Speeches

Year 6 have been writing speeches for an International Bravey Awards ceremony.

The children have been learning how to write in a formal style, befitting the occasion, and include relative clauses to help add further detail to their sentences.

Many of the children decided the award should be given to Rose Blanche, a character from one of the texts we have been studying in class. Rose was a young Italian girl who risked her life to help Jewish prisoners during the Second World War. She took food from her house and off her own plate to take to the starving inmates at a concentration camp just outside her town.
