Air resistance
Lesson: Science
For our final session on Forces, Class 10 devised two tests to explore air resistance. Four groups prepared a test to discover whether the size of parachute affected the rate the parachute fell to the ground. The other 4 groups investigated whether the weight attached to the parachute made a difference to the time it takes to fall to the ground. We tested each parachute three times and calculated our average result. We discovered that the larger parachute created more air resistance so fell the slowest and the heavier the weight, the faster the parachute fell.
