Lesson: PSHE and citizenship

During our last PSHE lesson, we looked at the importance of debating and also where and why it happens. The children were given a statement (dogs are better pets than cats) and decided whether they agreed or disagreed. They had to come up with reasons why and also nominate a speaker to share their reasons with the 'neutral party' before they came to a decision. 

The children shared some excellent reasons and even I (a keen cat owner) could potentially have been swayed into getting a dog... but then again, I'm not sure I could handle the ?!
