Lesson: Art and design

This DT week has been based on fashion designer Louis Vuitton who has created some of the most famous bags and purses in the world. Year 2 were briefed that they must make a purse or wallet that would keep money safe. First, the children studied different bags and purses, evaluating their effectiveness and style. They then were tasked with designing. They had to think about the size and shape and how it would open and close, as well as looking good too. Next, they practised sewing in a running stitch which was very tricky! However, they persevered and were able to choose their material, cut and fold, and sew their purses. After adding some decoration, the final designs look amazing!
