The Stuff of Myths and Legends

As part of our recent unit of work on myths and legends, 2M have been looking at Theseus and the Minotaur. Having read a picture book version, it became clear that this was already a story most of the children knew well and reprimanded me for giving the story a happy ending. Outside the children got into their writing groups and were each given a part of the story to prepare. After a while we recorded these and you can clearly tell how much the children enjoyed performing them to their peers. Next lesson the children will work in small mixed groups of threes to retell the story writing a section of it each day.
