Our nativity visit to the local church

Lesson: Religious education

Classes 5 and 6 recently visited the local Methodist church where they were treated to a fantastic nativity trail all the way from Persia to Bethlehem. The church had created different areas including a stable, the wise men's palace and an inn, and invited our children to dress up as the different characters to help with their retention of the story. The church commented on how well most of the seemed to know the Christmas story. Thankfully after such a long walk down, the church provided the children with a refreshing drink and biscuit which they ravenously ate whilst doing a range of different Christman craft activities. We would like to thank the Methodist church for such a brilliant trip and a great addition to the pre-existing school RE curriculum. As part of our literacy lessons next week we will be writing to the church to say thank you.
