Magical fairytale learning in R2

For our last half term in Reception we have begun the magical topic of Fairytales! We have begun the topic learning the story of 'Jack and the Beanstalk' comparing the different versions of this story through a range of books, songs and talking stories on the interactive whiteboard. The children have also been planting some magic beans in all sorts of weird and wonderful substances such as jelly, sand, cotton wool, magical blue water, slime and soil which we are going to observe and check to see if our predictions are right or not! We have also been busy making some lovely art work for the classroom displays, building castles with 3D shapes and dressing up in our fairytale castle and enchanted forest. 

We are looking foward to creating some enchanting stories, more great art work and applying our maths skills in a range of wonderful ways so pease keep coming back to our page to check for any new photos weekly. We hope you enjoy looking at our photos as much we are already enjoying learning about different Fairytales!
