Lesson: Understanding the World

This week we took advantage of the beautiful weather by getting out into the Lacey Green gardens and sorting out the spaces near 2M's classroom, the playing field and by the car park. The children took part in a vast range of activities including weeding, planting plants and flowers, brushing, sweeping and maintaining the area, watering the plants, digging and helping to decide where different plants should go and then planting them. As you can see the children really enjoyed themselves and we need have the beginnings of a really beautiful garden.

After this the children enjoyed reading story under the shade with their water bottles after all their hard work.  

Over the next half term, 2M will further help the gardeners by watering the plants everyday. This afternoon session also tied with Science where we are looking at Plants over the course of this half term.
