Class 1H tasting Handa's fruits

Earlier this week the children were given the opportunity to try the fruits mentioned in the book 'Handa's Surprise' by Eileen Browne. We began exploring the book last week as part of our new topic Africa. The class were intrigued by some of the fruits, particularly those such as guava and passion fruit. Miss Humphreys was very impressed that every child tried every single fruit, even ones that they had tried previously and were unsure of! Each child rated each of the 8 fruits and then we created bar charts to represent the class favourites. The one that came out at the top was pineapple, closely followed by guava.
